compact.xml for a very simple test case [message #1214] Mon, 15 October 2007 13:26 Go to previous message

I tried to work with the compact description for geometry, sensitive detectors and readout segmentation. I thought the easiest would be a block of material that is readout as one calorimeter cell. I used the TestBeamCalorimeter class
(see attached .xml file) and assumed that setting the Grid size in x and y equal to the size of the x and y dimension of the block would give me a calorimeter with only one cell. Instead the smallest number of cells I got is 4.
Is there a way to make the segmentation visible in wired?

The other problem is that there seems to be no way to add arrays
with properties to a material (e.g. refraction index) (which can be done in lcdd/gdml) or declare the calorimeter type optical.
