I am quite puzzled from an effect I see in my simulations.

I used the command
/Mokka/init/lcioDetailedTRKHitMode VXDCollection
in order to get the distance travelled in the sensitive part of VXD .

I use Mokka0606 and detectorModel LDCPrime_02Sc_p01, where each layer of the VXD is defined with a sensitive thickness of 50um of silicon (checked to be correct in the Gear file).

I generated high energy muons at theta=90 degrees and uniformly in phi. The "minimum" pathlength I get is 100um and not the 50um I should expect. Additionally I get also some percent of the events with very short pathlength, ranging from 0 to 100um, even for events which are primaries, thus should in principle cross all the sensitive volume of the VXD layer.

has anyone an idea of what that is?
