Hi Hans,

yes to both. The way I used to do it is to convert the aida file using paida.sourceforge.net with pyROOT
https://confluence.slac.stanford.edu/display/ilc/AIDA+xml+to +ROOT+TTree+converter

Recently, we had a Student work on this, though
https://confluence.slac.stanford.edu/display/ilc/javaROOT

This is probably more what you want.

Both are maintained on a 'best effort' basis. Please let me know if you have problems with either approach.
