Hello Christoph,

  1. There certainly is a correlation between the charge sum and the time since both are calculated from the ADC same values. If for instance the tail is cut off due to a too high threshold the pulse is too short, the time is shifted (at least when using centre of gravity) and the charge sum is too low. However, I don't think we need a covariance matrix.
  2. For the maximum value one could either store the maximum value and the time of the maximum, or the index of the maximum within the rawdata vector. The latter would only save the looping, not converting sample steps into ns. It depends on the use case which one is more convenient / efficient. Btw: What is this needed for? For a normal pulse charge sum and maximum should be proportional. I think for the few pulses which need special treatment we can afford to loop the raw data again.
